Diaper Bank
The Short Years Diaper Bank provides diapers to qualifying families in our Parents as Teachers program across all our service counties, as well as to the qualifying public in Warren, Madison, and Marion County.
Why a Diaper Bank?
Babies can require up to 12 diapers a day to stay clean, dry, and healthy. Yet, nearly half of all U.S. parents report they cannot afford an adequate supply for their children, this is known as diaper need. Diaper Banks are stepping up to meet this essential community need. Consider these stats:
-
$80-$100: The monthly cost of disposable diapers per child.
-
1-in-4: The number of parents who report having to miss work or school because they did not have enough diapers to drop their child off at childcare, resulting in an average of 5.1 missed workdays in the past 30 days.
-
This translates to a loss of $296/month for a parent earning the federal minimum wage.
-
-
50: The average number of diapers families lack each month.
-
Zero: The number of federal programs that provide assistance with diapers.
Basic needs aren't just basic; they're essential. The Short Years Diaper Bank provides eligible families with 50 supplemental diapers per child each month. With your support, we can ease this financial strain on parents and ensure our community's most vulnerable have this essential need met.
How to Get Involved
