Volunteer
Volunteers are the heart and soul of what we do! The Diaper Bank has 1 & 2-hour shifts available and other opportunities on an as-needed basis. If you are interested in volunteering or just want to learn more, please review our Volunteer Handbook. If you are ready to start making a difference in our community, please complete our Volunteer Application, and a coordinator will be in touch.
Volunteer Opportunities
Counting, Sorting, and Repackaging Diapers
If you want a hands-on way to make a difference, this is it! Donations of wipes and diapers are sorted, counted and recorded for our inventory. After donations have been inventoried, diapers are repackaged into smaller 25-count bundles for distribution and placed into tubs according to size.
Collecting Donations from Donation Sites
At this time, donation boxes are located at Indianola Public Library, Norwalk Easter Public Library, Carlisle Public Library, and Milo Public Library. The Diaper Bank needs help collecting donations from these sites monthly and delivering them to our facility.
Host a Diaper Drive
If your time is limited, an easy way to help the Diaper Bank is by hosting a Diaper Drive. These are great projects for groups of all kinds-student councils, church groups, office groups…the possibilities are endless! Email diaperbank@shortyears.org for more information.
